Improved Sparkle Dun
I tried this a long time before. Thought I was the only one doing this. Then, I found a youtube video by Craig Mathews of Blue Ribbon Flies and find that he is doing it. They named it the "Improved Sparkle Dun". I like it because it sort of highlights the wing and adds sheen to it.
This one is supposed to be a baetis. My thread color was too light. This one is a size 16.

Improved version is tied on a curved emerger hook with a thin thread abdomen, both of which are why I prefer this to original.
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried using this improvised flyers but this looks nice though. I'm gonna need this for extra purposes. Fishing lewis river.
ReplyDeleteI really like that fly, I'll try tying a few tonight.
